We changed the rules for how far players had to be when deployed at the start so the final person wasn't quite so squashed in. We also managed to forget that we should have been rolling to see what the middle objective was.
The custom ruleset we used is as follows:
OBJECTIVES
- Each player has one objective worth 1pt in their deployment following usual rules for placement.
- A fourth objective is placed in the exact centre of the board worth 3pts.
- If the fourth objective is contested the contesting armies score 1pt each.
- When a unit is within 2” of it, roll on the Archeotech Artefacts list (rulebook page 106).
DEPLOYMENT
- Randomly determine who goes first
- They deploy at least 12” away from the centre of the board
- Randomly determine who goes second
- They deploy at least 12” from the centre and 24” from the other player
- Final player deploys at least 12” from centre and 18” from other players
- All three players roll for stealing the initiative and if two people roll a 6 they roll again against each other only.
